Grass Master Hydroseeding was established in 2002 in Utah as a grandfather/grandson project (Richard/Chris) to have a bonding experience and to put the old farm equipment to use instead of sitting there after selling a 165 acre farm off in 1998. The first 2 years of hydroseeding were more of a word of mouth that the Reese’s were now doing hydroseeding. After word getting out so quickly and growing to more than we would have thought we also got our lucky break with a government project for 35 miles of highway hillside erosion control that was a complete success and decided to put the money right back into the company to help us grow just that much more. Our promise to each other no matter how large we grew or busy we got, we would always take care of each individual customer the same. We devoted one of us would be out on every job site to oversee project progression and to make sure the job was done correctly. Richard soon passed in 2009 leaving all responsibilities to Chris knowing he could grow this company into something Richard had dreamed of doing. To this day even though we hydroseed well into the 3 million sqft of residential lawns per year, and millions of commercial, Chris makes sure to stop by every jobsite to inspect and introduce himself to every customer.
Hydroseeding is a planting process in which a slurry containing seed, mulch, fertilizer and a tackifier (bonding agent) is sprayed onto the ground. The slurry is sprayed over prepared ground in a uniform layer. Hydroseeding offers many advantages from savings that are 2/3 the cost of sod, and a better appearing lawn with no worry if sod will take.
